Learn The Art

Learn the Art of Ventriloquism & Puppetry

With a career spanning more than 4 decades, Ramdas Padhye always felt the need to propagate this art to the future generations so that more and more artistes would get interested in this art form. Hence with this aim, he founded Ramdas Padhye Foundation, a public charitable trust in the year 1995 to propagate and develop this art of ventriloquism, puppetry and allied arts in India.

In the year 2010, Ramdas Padhye started a center called “Indian Centre for Ventriloquism & Puppetry” (ICVP) which was established under the Ramdas Padhye Foundation. It is a place where people from all age groups can learn this art and know more about it. Ramdas Padhye and his wife Aparna will be personally present to guide the people.

ICVP is a place where people can learn about Ventriloquism, different puppetry forms, intricacies of script writing, puppet making and basically have fun while learning the art.

ICVP was inaugurated by Smt. Vijaya Mehta, a veteran Theatre Director on 22nd May 2010. Many imminent personalities from different fields were present during inauguration. Ramdas has dedicated this centre to Prof Y.K.Padhye, his father who is the pioneer who started this art form in India in early 1920’s. Ramdas believes that his mission to propagate this art form will be fulfilled if someone becomes a Ventriloquist and Puppeteer. Ramdas feels that the rare of art of Ventriloquism and Puppetry will again be resurrected through ICVP. ICVP will probably be first such place in India which will provide information on this art.

ICVP is located at Radhika Residency, “A” Wing, A/301 & 302, Near Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Chembur Mumbai – 400089.
