Fantazia Fantastique is a Mega Puppet Play with around hundred puppets.It is written and directed by AD-Man & Theatre Director Bharat Dabholkar.The puppets are designed by India’s ace Ventriloquist, Puppeteer & Puppet-Maker Ramdas Padhye. Just like animation films have voice-overs by different Bollywood celebrities, Fantasia Fantastique is India’s first Puppet Play with voice-overs by different Bollywood Celebrities like Jackie Shroff, Juhi Chawla, Jaaved Jaffri, Arshad Warsi, Sudesh Bhosale. Shankar Mahadevan has sung the title song for the play.The play is a family entertainer and can be enjoyed by entire family.

Speaking more about this Writer & Director of the play Bharat Dabholkar said “ I have done many plays like Bottoms Up, Carry on Heaven, Grandson of Bottoms Up which all had Hinglish as it’s language and it was played by live actors. But this is the only play which has puppets. It was great fun to write the script for it. All my plays has humor as it’s key element.However in this play, along with humor, it has fantastic visual appeal with mermaid, Octopus, Sea Horse and hundreds of fishes talking to you.I can say it’s like a Walt Disney movie on Stage. This play is very different from all my other plays that you have seen.And I am sure you will all enjoy it.The voices of all the different celebrities that I have used have been selected keeping the Puppet characters in mind.And believe me they suit the characters perfectly ”. So along with the Bharat Dabholkar’s USP i.e. Hinglish, we will be able to witness a 10 feet Evil Octopus, 20 feet Anaconda, 8 feet Dyno-Vulture and 100’s of different fishes.

Speaking more about the puppets Ramdas Padhye said “ I have been working on this project for 1 ½ year, because just like an animation film, I worked out the sketches of the puppets and then designed the puppets. The play has around 100 puppets which have been exclusively designed in my puppet studio.This puppet play is a confluence of several international puppetry techniques like Japanese Bunraku Style of Puppetry, French Black Light Puppetry besides the Indian Puppetry techniques. The look of the puppet is international and very contemporary and it can be enjoyed by any person from any country.This puppet play has more than 15 to 20 puppeteers and dancers. My sons Satyajit, Parikshit and my wife Aparna are also a part of this play and are the lead puppeteers along with me.” With career spanning 50 years and 9700 shows, Mr.Padhye says “It is a great fun to keep on doing something different and challenging. Both Bharat & I have worked really hard on this play. And I am sure everybody right from an 8 year old to 80 year old are going to enjoy it. It’s a complete family entertainer.”

“Hats Off” is a Hindi revue with significant contributions from renowned artistes such as Harish Bhimani, Sudesh Bhosale, Shankar Mahadevan, Zelam Paranjape, Subhash Kabra, R.S.Mani & Ashok Patki.

In this two hour long play, Ramdas Padhye and Aparna Ramdas present onstage, 100 different puppets including three huge dinosaurs and an underwater sequence with puppets. This show with special sound and light effects was presented all over India since December 1995.This play is written & directed by well-known ad-man Mr. Bharat Dabholkar, music Louis Banks and produced by Jayant Gandhi.

Ramdas Padhye performed an exclusive show for multinational company Siemens Ltd, where he designed puppets of 18 top executives in his "Puppet Studio" for the "Siemens Excellence Award Night" commemorating 50 Years of manufacturing in India.Before starting the work, marketing department of Siemens gave photos of all the executives.The puppets were designed keeping in mind the peculiar characteristics of each and every individual.A special wig-maker was appointed for this job to create the wigs of all the puppets.Also a costume designer designed the costumes for all the characters.The eye-balls of the characters were also custom made, keeping in mind the color of the eyes of every character.Such was the detailing that went into it.It took almost 3 months to design the puppets.

Ramdas Padhye and his team of 20 puppeteers operated the puppets.The show was attended by the Worldwide Board of Siemens Ltd.The theme of the show revolved around the board meeting of Siemens.The Worldwide CEO, Mr. Klaus Kleinfield, the head of 190 countries of Siemens Ltd, exclaimed that he had never seen such kind of show before and was really amazed to see the exact resembles of the puppets.

Ramdas Padhye and his team have done Product Activation for several corporate brands like HP through the art of Puppetry. The Product Activation through the art of puppetry brings innovation and immediately catches the attention of the target audience. This activation for HP was done across 10 malls in India simultaneously with team of puppeteers performing at various malls.

Ramdas Padhye has been a part of innumerable stage shows, variety shows, musical shows, orchestras and vaudeville performances in 1970’s, 1980’s & 1990’s. During his career as top vaudeville entertainer, he performed his Ventriloquism and Puppetry acts in front of large number of audiences, celebrities from different fields and art connoisseurs and aficionados. In fact Ventriloquism as a Vaudeville art was popularized by Ramdas Padhye in India thereby giving a huge boost to this art and taking this age old vaudevillian art to the masses in India.His wife Aparna Padhye, Singer and a Puppeteer has been a part of this journey for last 4 decades.

Ramdas performed his Ventriloquism and Puppetry based acts in country’s number of top musical and variety entertainment shows like Kishore Kumar Nite, Tabassum Hit Parade, Manna Dey Nite, Kalyanji-Anandji Nite, Filmfare Award Nite, Zee Cine Awards. His acts were appreciated and enjoyed by various celebrities in the Indian Film industry.
